Missouri Medical Marijuana Card – Fast Online Certification | Medical Card Exam™Missouri

(Updated August 2025)

    1. Introduction:

Missouri has one of the most patient-friendly cannabis programs in the Midwest, with legal access for both medical and adult-use consumers. Since launching its medical marijuana program in 2020 and expanding to recreational sales in 2023, Missouri has built a rapidly growing network of licensed dispensaries and cultivation facilities. As a physician, I want patients and caregivers to fully understand the rules so they can stay compliant while benefiting from safe, legal cannabis access.

    1. Expert Insights

    • Missouri’s caregiver system is relatively flexible, allowing up to 3 patients per caregiver—higher than many states.
    • The tax allocation is unique: medical cannabis tax revenue funds veteran services, while recreational taxes go toward expungements, drug treatment, and public defense.
    • Amendment 3’s automatic expungement provision is one of the most robust in the country—over 100,000 records cleared so far.
    • Missouri treats home-grown cannabis differently than purchased cannabis, allowing patients to store larger amounts at home if locked.
