Nebraska Medical Marijuana Law – Patient Guide

Status: Not Yet Operational
Law Signed: 2024

Nebraska has officially legalized medical cannabis, but the program is still being built. While dispensaries are not yet open, the framework for patient access and physician recommendations is now law.

Qualifying Conditions

To qualify, you must have:

    • A signed, dated statement from a licensed healthcare practitioner stating that, in their professional judgment, the potential benefits of cannabis outweigh the potential risks for treating your condition, its symptoms, or side effects of your treatment.

    • Nebraska does not limit eligibility to a fixed list of conditions, giving physicians broad discretion to recommend cannabis when appropriate.

While you can’t apply just yet, Medical Card Exam™ will be prepared to connect you with trusted Nebraska physicians for secure, fast, and compliant evaluations as soon as the registry opens.
